BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – A fire at 1020 Gunthorpe Road near the Branch-St. Joseph County line took the lives of two dogs and destroyed two vehicles on Sunday afternoon.
Bronson firefighters were dispatched just after 2:15 p.m.. Crews arrived to find a 40 foot 5th wheel camper and a 1998 Jeep fully engulfed in flames.
Damage was estimated at $7,500 to the camper and $3,400 to the jeep.
The owner was living in the camper and was not home when the fire started. The two dogs that did not survive were in the camper.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined. Bronson firefighters were on the scene for an hour and 15 minutes.
The Branch County Sheriff’s Department and Lifecare Ambulance also responded to the scene.
