FREMONT, IN (WTVB) – Firefighters from three states had to give up their Christmas Eve when a large barn fire broke out in northeast Steuben County just south of the Michigan-Indiana border.
The fire at 7660 North 875 East was reported just before 6pm.
Just about every fire department from Steuben County were at the scene.
Mutual aid was provided by the Lakeland Fire Department and several other departments from Hillsdale and Williams Counties.
Crews were on the scene until about midnight. No injuries were reported.
WPTA-TV in Fort Wayne said initial reports suggested the barn was filled with hay and farm equipment. It’s not known how the fire got started.
