  • Even my kid's doing The Harlem Shake

    Posted by Ken Delaney

If you're like me, you're probably just hearing about the Youtube sensation The Harlem Shake.  Odd music and even odder dancing...and Youtube says its getting 4,000 new videos posted everyday.

My son Jason was one of about 700 students at the University of Central Florida who got in the act last Friday

He's the redhead in the brown shirt, on the lowest stairway on the left. Don't worry, I couldn't find him either.

There are some other interesting versions out there

  • Oh say can you see...Frosty has been found!

So where did you think Frosty was hiding?

Our first clue to find Frosty the Doughman on Excursion #3 was " O where o where can our Frosty be? Perhaps he's out singing is favorite song O say can you see?"  Clue #2 was "When picking his hiding spot, our Frosty is quite sly. From his location this time, he can watch you drive by.".

Our little play on words (and letters) had some folks fooled, but Jeff Dwyer of Quincy found Frosty hiding inside the letter "C" of the bushes that spell out "COLDWATER" on the hill at the old Oak Grove Cemetery off US 12 on Coldwater's west side. In addition to overlooking the highway, Frosty also had a good view of the Gathering of Flags Memorial at the new Oak Grove Cemetery on the south side of US 12.

Jeff wins $50 from Southern Michigan Bank and Trust.  When Frosty goes out on Excursion #4, he'll be worth $100 if your find him. Be watching and listening for clues soon.

  • Frosty Freak strikes again

    Posted by Ken Delaney

Frosty the Doughman, on his second excursion of 2013, was found late last week by a dedicated follower of the contest named Frosty Freak. 'Le Freak sent us this photo after he/she found Frosty hiding behind the guardrail of the Hodunk Road bridge off Union City Road (overlooking the Hodunk dam).

Forsty then got dropped off on the front porch of former Coldwater mayor Bob Rumsey, with a note for Bob to donate the $50 prize money to the charity of his choice.  Bob will be donating the money to the Branch Area Food Pantry....and Frosty will be out hiding soon somewhere in Branch County for Excursion #3....sponsored by Southern Michigan Bank and Trust.
