Ypsilanti, MI (WKZO) – The Western Michigan men’s basketball team four game winning streak came to an end Tuesday night, as the Eastern Michigan Eagles rolled to an easy 56-37 victory over the Broncos in Mid-American Conference play.
Darell Combs and Mike Talley each tallied 14 points for EMU (10-6, 2-1 MAC), who held the Broncos to just 14 points on four field goals in the first half while forcing 26 turnovers for the game.
WMU (9-6, 2-1) led briefly 8-3, and trailed by 18 at halftime. In the second half, the Broncos were able to trim the lead to single digits but never got any closer than eight.
David Brown led the Broncos with 18 points before being ejected on a flagrant two foul. Connar Tava scored six and made just one of four field goal attempts after missing just one of his previous 17 shots. Shayne Whittington had 10 boards.
The Broncos return home to University for their next game on Sunday afternoon against the Bowling Green Falcons. Tip-off is set for 2pm.
