Kalamazoo, MI (WKZO) – Over the last decade, there has been a stellar core of wide receivers to come out of Western Michigan. Greg Jennings, Jamarko Simmons, Jordan White, Jamie Wilson and now you can add Corey Davis to the list.
On Tuesday, true freshman Corey Davis was added to the Biletnikoff Award Watch List as announced by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, Inc. Davis is among one of nine wide receivers added to the watch list.
Davis leads all Western Michigan receivers with 21 catches for 324 yards and two touchdowns. His 21 receptions rank him in a tie for 15th in the nation and is tied for 11th in receiving yards. Davis also ranks 2nd and 3rd in the MAC in receptions and receiving yards respectively.
The Wheaton, Ill., native has registered back-to-back 100-yard receiving games over the past two contests with a career high 116 yards against Nicholls on Sept. 7. Davis had 112 yards at No. 17 Northwestern, including a 75-yard catch and run for the score to put WMU up 10-7 in the second quarter against the Wildcats.
