COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (WKZO) -- Western Michigan's Lukas Hafner has been named the National Collegiate Hockey Association Bauer Goalie of the Week after his MVP perfomance leading to WMU's Great Lakes Invitational Championship.Harner (Toledo, Ohio/Cornwall Colts, CCHL) finished the GLI with a perfect 2-0-0 record, a .969 save percentage and a 0.96 goals against average. In the semifinals he made 30 saves, with 11 on coming during seven Michigan power plays, in WMU's upset over the No. 3 ranked Wolverines. In the GLI Championship game he made 33 saves to shutout Michigan Tech in the 1-0 overtime win.
The sophomore netminder was named to the GLI All-Tournament Team and was voted the GLI MVP. Hafner has put up exceptional numbers so far this season with a 4-2-0 record in five starts, a .947 save percentage and a 1.26 goals against average.
