COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The latest economic indicator for Branch County shows that it may be in for a skydive, but that’s a good thing. Branch County Commissioner Rod Olney told the Branch County Board of Commissioners at their work meeting today that a skydiving business wants to move its base of operations from the Ft. Wayne airport to the Branch County Memorial Airport.
Olney said the local airport board met in Coldwater yesterday and approved the proposal from Gravity Powered Sports, which draws customers from southern Michigan, northeast Indiana and western Ohio. The county commission would have to give final approval and the application from the parachuting business will be turned over to the county’s attorney to be reviewed for any liability issues or other items that may need to be checked before the County Board can consider the matter.
