Did the Christmas break seem abnormally short?  In our house it felt like just a long weekend off.  But why is it that the school year continues to extend until almost mid-June?  Why don't all schools take the lead of schools like Pansophia Academy and St Charles Elementary and extend the school day by a few minutes and cut the number of days.  It seems districts would save hundreds of thousands of dollars in busing and building costs by ending the year earlier.
