For the 16th straight year, AM 1590 WTVB radio personality Ken Delaney will hit the road Thursday to keep others warm this winter. Delaney's annual "Walk Across Branch County" always takes place two days before Community Action's "Walk For Warmth", which is a series of one and three mile walks to raise money for emergency heating assistance in the South Central Michigan area.
Over the previous 15 years of his 19 mile walk, Delaney, who hosts the popular "Delaney in the Morning" show and also serves as Station Manager for WTVB, has raised over $50,000 that is used by Community Action to pay heating bills for the low income and elderly in Branch County. He will leave from the Bronson McDonald's restaurant at 8 am Thursday and finish his walk at the Quincy McDonald's, all the while broadcasting live on AM 1590 WTVB. Pledges can be called into the radio station at (517)279-1590 or given to Delaney along the walk route.
