July 25, 2012-- Coldwater, Michigan- Each month the Community Health Center of Branch County (CHC) honors its Employee of the Month with a special recognition and gifts. Nominated by his or her peers, this employee exemplifies positive work ethic and customer service.  In June, CHC administration and staff recognized Sherry Norton as the Employee of the Month. 

 Norton was hired at CHC in 1988 as Data Entry Clerk in the Information Technologies department.  In 1995 Sherry became a buyer for the Materials Management Department.  Her duties include placing orders, researching new products, keeping inventory, and control of their stock.  Norton is on the Product Analysis Committee and is part of the Emergency Preparedness Team.  According to her nominator, “Sherry is very deserving of this award.  She is very dedicated to CHC.  She goes above and beyond her job duties every day to perform great customer service.  I have seen her take time out of her busy day to answer questions and help other departments place their orders.  If she doesn’t have an answer for you, she will find it.  She is always willing to help her coworkers in the warehouse.  I know that my job runs much smoother because of Sherry’s diligence and desire to do things right.  She willingly steps in to help solve discrepancies and always with a smile on her face.  Sherry is a great example of what every CHC employee should strive for when promoting good customer service.”

 Sherry graduated from Coldwater High School in 1988 and received her Associates Degree in business in 1994 from Kellogg Community College.  Sherry has been married to Steve for 19 years and together they have a 17 year old son, Joshua, who is a Junior at Coldwater High School.  Steve has worked as an Electronic Tech. Engineer for 25 years.  Sherry enjoys gardening, four wheeling, and watching Joshua run track and cross country.  She is involved in the Coldwater Basketball Association and Coldwater Cross Country.  Sherry also helps on the family farm.
