The Union City "Take Back Our Park" event this past Sunday was a big success. Here's the note I got from Tom Lowande,the chair of the Park Board:

Just wanted to update you on how the "Take Back Our Park" Picnic went yesterday. We had close to 300 people show up and received nearly $3000.00 in donations for the Riverview Park. The winning Decorated Picnic Table was from the Clarion new paper (photo attached). I want to say a special Thank You to Bruce Caswell who was asked to take part in MIS events but decided to attend the Take Back Our Park picnic. Bruce has always been supportive of Union City events.
 
Major donations were received by the Knights of Columbus Council 2900 ($500), Union Lake Association ($500), Dr. Matthew Christopher DDS ($200), Jim & Georgia Hayden ($200), Heator's Insurance ($100), Hull Farms ($100), Brian Nessel's Nutrition of Battle Creek ($100), Union Township Friends of the Library ($100), Frank Kominek ($100), Mary Guthrie ($100), Dr. Robert LaPenna ($100) and we also donated $100 to the park.
