See How They Run....A Lot!

Coldwater Physical Education Teacher Jaci Hoorman passed on some very cool news about a couple of her students:

Marshall Hoard & Bradey Moore join the Jefferson Elementary Mileage Club 100 Mile plaque on December 16, 2011.  They both completed 100 miles by jogging or walking every recess.

Marshall started to jog because it is a good way to keep him healthy.  Marshall’s starting goal was 50 miles.  He achieved it by jogging every day until he reached his goal.  He set a new goal for 100 miles because he wanted to earn a t-shirt.  After earning a t-shirt he made a new goal which was 150 miles.  Marshall currently completed 115 miles.  Marshall said that sometimes it was hard to jog at recess because he chose not to play with his friends.  He would remind himself of his goal and keep jogging instead of playing with his friends.  He sees himself completing 225 miles by the end of the school year.

Bradey Moore started to run because he wanted to get faster for basketball.  He kept jogging because it was fun and he wanted to talk to Marshall.  Bradey’s first goal was 100 miles by half of the school year.  Bradey jogged every day at recess and extra recess.  Bradey’s current goal is 150 miles.  Bradey currently completed 105 miles.   Bradey says that is was easy to start and stay with jogging daily  because jogging is fun.  Bradey says jogging makes him feel good and it helped him focus in school.  Bradey wants to be a good basketball player and plans on continuing to jog with his mom every day during the summer.  He sees himself jogging 200 miles by the end of the school year.

If both Marshall and Bradey continue setting goals and persevere to achieve goals they will achieve great things with their lives!

Both of my boys did the Mileage Club when they were at Jefferson.  What a great program for the kids.
