
June 14, 2012-Coldwater, Michigan- An Employee of the Month must demonstrate team work, customer services, and leadership. Roland Roth exemplifies those traits, which is why he was presented the Employee of the Month Award at CHC for April.
Roland was hired in October of 1984 as Director of Materials Management. Some of his job duties include direction of purchasing; receipt, storage, inventory control of equipment and supplies used in patient care, and patient concern resolution. Roland is a committee member on the Customer Service Steering Committee, Emergency Preparedness, and Joint Commission Ethics & Patient Rights.. According to his nominator, “Roland serves as an example to all for the values we hold as an organization. H strives to always make recommendations and decisions that are in the best interest of the organization. He supports his peers in any way he can and continually does small things to help make everyone’s job easier. These small things are often time savers and are so very helpful. Roland is kind and compassionate and genuinely cares about CHC and his coworkers. He lives by the mission of the hospital and truly sets an example for others to follow. Roland would make an excellent Employee of the Month.”
Roland graduated from high school inElmira,Oregon. He received his degree in Respiratory Therapy from Kettering College of Medical Arts in 1978. Roland received a certification in electrocardiography and became an EMT in 1980. In 2009, Roland did his masters work in Pastoral Leadership.
Roland is married to Mary Jo who is an elementary school teacher. They have been married for 32 years and have two sons. John Roth is thirty one and an elementary school teacher inBloomington,IN. Joseph Roth is thirty and is in construction while working on his degree in Christian Counseling inAuburn,IN. Roland enjoys studying biblical and ancient Near East culture and history, wood carving, reading, and fishing. He is a church pastor, teaches two bible studies groups, and is a marriage counselor.
