June 29, 2012-Coldwater, Michigan- Each month the Community Health Center of Branch County (CHC) honors its Employee of the Month with a special recognition and gifts. Nominated by his or her peers, this employee exemplifies positive work ethic and customer service, which is why Cathy Morrill was presented the Employee of the Month Award at CHC for May.

Cathy was hired on December 19, 1994, as a Health Information Management Clerk.  Some of her job duties include clerical functions as it pertains to identifying and analyzing physical or electronic medical records.  According to her nominator,” Cathy is a dedicated member of the CHC Health Information Management Department and the hospital and most assuredly deserving of the recognition as Employee of the Month.  She is dependable, conscientious, and demonstrates team commitment and quality customer service each and every day she is here.  She responds promptly and professionally to customer requests.  She is committed to meeting the goals set forth by herself and by her customers.  She is always seen pitching in for the benefit of her peers before being asked and is well respected by her peers.  Cathy has generously put forth her personal time to assist coworkers inside and outside the department; organizing a fundraiser for staff members in need, dropping off meals to a volunteer after surgery, and loaning personal equipment to help someone in need.  Cathy is cheerful and pleasant, works hard and can always be seen hustling about her day with a focus to produce timely, quality work and always seems to be enjoying herself.  Cathy shows each of us through example how to be a great coworker, team player, and friend of the hospital.  She is an excellent example for each of us to follow.”

 Cathy graduated from Coldwater High School and attended the Branch Area Career Center.  Born in Blue Island, IL, Cathy has a twin sister.  At thirteen years old her family moved to Coldwater.  Cathy has been married to her high school sweetheart, John Morrill, Sr., for 34 years.  Together they have a son, John Morrill, Jr. who is 31 years old and works as a plumber for Donay’s Plumbing, Heating, & Air Conditioning and a daughter, Leslie Morrill-Stumpf who is 27 years old and works for Dr. Sennish at Coldwater Surgery, P.C.  Cathy enjoys spending time with her five grandchildren, Emma, Harper, Nolan, Madison, & Archer.  She also enjoys walking and working in her flower gardens.
