Coldwater High School is honored to present the October 2012 students of the month:
Mikayla Spray, daughter of Jamie and Kelly Spray, is a 9th grade student at Coldwater High School. She participates in FFA at the Branch Area Career Center and also volunteers at the Career Center. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and biking to the park near her house. Her favorite subject is History and English. The best part about being a Cardinal is meeting new people, making new friends and learning new things. In the future, she plans on going to college for 4 years then taking 4 years of vet school before starting her own practice as a veterinarian.
Brendan Spangler, son of Karen and Randy Spangler, is a 9th grade student at Coldwater High School. He participates in JV football, basketball, and baseball. In his spare time, he enjoys playing sports and hanging out with friends. His favorite subject is biology. The best part about being a Cardinal is showing pride for the school and wearing red. In the future, Brendan plans to attend a four year college and get a degree, but it is still unknown what he intends to study.
Shelby Bowers, daughter of Chris and Jill Bowers, is a 10th grade student at Coldwater High School. She participates in volleyball, basketball, and soccer at CHS. She is also a member of the Interact Club and vice president of the class of 2015. In her spare time, Shelby enjoys being out on the lake and also listening to music and hanging out with her friends. Her favorite class is weight training. The best part about being a Cardinal is being able to show school spirit at sport games and during homecoming week. In her future, she plans on going to college, but she is still undecided on where she wants to go or what she wants to do yet.
Zach DeMeester, son of Mark and Sharon DeMeester, is a 10th grade student at Coldwater High School. He participates in football, basketball, baseball, AEWE, and Interact. In his spare time he enjoys spending time playing sports and hanging out with friends. His favorite subject is Spanish because he has a nice teacher and a fun class. The best part about being a Cardinal is having a lot of peer support, both academically and athletically. In his future, he plans on going to college for four years at MSU to pursue something involving math and science. He would also like to play football at the college level.
Anna Wendorf, daughter of Samantha and David Wendorf, is an 11th grade student at Coldwater High School. She participates in golf, Interact, NHS, youth in government, and band. In her spare time she enjoys playing golf, reading, and hanging out with friends. Her favorite class is AP Psychology. The best part about being a Cardinal is all the school spirit. She loves being involved in school events. Anna plans on going to U of M and double majoring in art and architecture.
Josh Norton, son of Steve and Sherry Norton, is an 11th grade student at Coldwater High School. He participates in Cross Country and Track and Field. In his spare time he enjoys running every day and drawing. His favorite class is history. The best part about being a Cardinal is the atmosphere he learns in and that he runs under the best coach in Michigan, Jim Bilsborrow. Josh plans on going to college, but he’s still unsure of what profession he wishes to take on.
Holly Hepker, daughter of Gayle Harvey and Eric Hepker, is a 12th grade student at Coldwater High School. She participates in interact, class council, CHS throwing team, Lockwood Community Church Youth Group, and Key Club. In her spare time she enjoys family time, listening to music, reading, and traveling. Her favorite subject is AP literature, thanks to Ms. Biddlecome. The best part about being a Cardinal are the teachers that teach at CHS, who spur her on to be the best she can be. In her future, Holly plans on achieving a degree in social services and counseling, as well as a degree in Biblical studies at New Tribes Bible Institute.
Nathan Rodgers, the son of Michelle and Troy Rodgers, is a 12th grade student at Coldwater High School. He participates in NHS, HTHS, FCCLA, and Community Leaders of America. In his spare time, Nathan enjoys playing video games, going outdoors, and helping his grandparents out. Nathan believes the best part about being a Cardinal is the spirit at sports games. In his future he plans on going to Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL to become a secondary school teacher.
