Martha Patino owner of Hidalgo’s Mexican Restaurant is proud to announce she will be open officially this coming Saturday, April 24. Hidalgo’s is located at 13 S. Monroe Street (next to Current Office Solutions) and will be open from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Sundays. To begin with she will be serving lunch and dinner – dine in or take out, but has future plans to add a breakfast menu and open earlier

Hidalgo’s is a 50-seat authentic Mexican restaurant and will feature such food items as tacos, burritos, and enchiladas with various flavored meats and many choices of fresh-made salsas. In addition to authentic Mexican cuisine, Hidalgo’s will offer a full menu of American items such as cheeseburgers, sandwiches and fries for lunch and steak and chicken for dinner. You will also want to try their selection of Mexican and American desserts from flans, sapodilla and special three-milk cake to cheesecakes and ice cream.

Hidalgo is the name of the state in Mexico where Martha was born which is about three hours from Mexico City. Martha has lived in Mongo, Indiana since 1987 where she began with a small grocery store in 1990. Since that time she has had businesses in Battle Creek and Sturgis. Martha has nine children (8 girls and 1 boy). Her daughter Sylvia will be helping her in the restaurant.

Corey Collins, President of the Downtown Business Association (DBA), commented that he “is very pleased that Martha Patino and Hidalgo’s Mexican Restaurant has joined our downtown business community. We have a very strong business mix and the addition of Hidalgo’s will be a great asset to Downtown Coldwater.”

Janice Cooper, manager of Taylor’s Books and More welcomes Hidalgo’s to Downtown Coldwater. “Having a variety of businesses and especially a new restaurant that serves lunch and dinner in our Downtown business community is good for not just Downtown Coldwater but everyone in Coldwater and the surrounding communities.”

Hidalgo’s will employ five people with plans to eventually have delivery service. They have not decided on being open on Sunday as they need to see if there is a desire from the community to have them open.

Martha and her staff welcome one and all to come enjoy great home cooked food beginning this Saturday. You may call Hidalgo Mexican Restaurant at 517-278-1495.
