Local Business Hosts Poetry and Music Night

As a way to bring peace and calmness to this time of the year, Integrative Somatics Institute of downtown Coldwater will have two evenings of entertainment planned during Christmas week.  On December 21st there will be a family music night to benefit the Branch Interfaith Hospitality Network (BIHN).  Also planned is a poetry slam on December 23rd to benefit theColdwaterHigh School’s Poetry Guild.

Bring your family, your musical instruments, your voices, and a snack to share for an evening of fun and informal music to ring in the winter season.  The Winter Solstice Family Music Night will be held from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 21st and there will be no charge to participate.  Wade Adams, of Parr and Adams, will be there to help begin the evening with song.

Donations to BIHN will be accepted at this event as well.  If you’d like to make a financial donation at this event, BIHN has a promise from some long-term supporters to match any financial donation made during the month of December.  Other acceptable and needed donations include paper towels, dish soap, disposable diapers, band aids, Ajax, and sponges.

Also scheduled at the Integrative Somatics Institute is a poetry slam on Friday, December 23rd from 7:00-8:30 p.m. to benefit the Coldwater High School Writer’s Guild.  Come to listen and share dramatically read poetry written by some of our local young writers ofColdwaterHigh School.  Students will be reading their works and there will be time for others in our community to share some of their writings in an open mic format.

This event is free to the public.  Donations will be accepted to help the CHS Writer’s Guild publish their annual book or work, and to purchase materials to help them continue their passions to write.
