An Employee of the Month must demonstrate team work, customer services, and leadership. Diane Todd exemplifies those traits, which is why she was presented the CHC Employee of the Month Award for May.
Diane was hired September 19, 2000, as a Medical Technologist. She was previously employed at CHC as a phlebotomist from 1997 to 1999. Diane serves on the Customer Service Committee, Meditech Core team, and TJC prep team. According to her nominator, “Diane is always willing to pitch in wherever help is needed. Her customer service is excellent and she is always a joy to work with.
Diane is detailed oriented and her work reflects this. Diane has a willingness to do whatever is needed by the department or CHC. She is a great CHC employee and is well deserving of the Employee of the Month.”
Diane graduated from Pittsford High School in 1995 and went to Kellogg Community College for her associates degree while working part time as a phlebotomist at CHC. Diane has been married to Richard for 13 years and together they have four children: Autumn, 11 years; Nick, 9 years; Nathan, 3 years; and Marissa, 1 1/2 years. They currently live inNorth Adams,MI.
Diane enjoys watching her kids sporting events, camping, biking, playing softball, and volleyball. Her family attends the First Baptist Church of North Adams and she serves as secretary of the Interested Parents Club of North Adams-Jerome Elementary School.
The CHC Laboratory provides a wide range of services which includes routine and STAT testing in the following areas:
Hematology Coagulation Urinalysis Chemistry Special Chemistry
Blood Band Histology Cytology Microbiology Serology Virology
All sections of the department provide routine and STAT testing for both inpatient and outpatient populations. The majority of the testing is processed as it is received and there is very little “batch” testing.
For those tests not done on site, CHC utilizes mlabs at the University of Michigan for the majority of reference laboratory services. CHC’s Laboratory provides blood and blood products for transfusion. These blood products are received from the American Red Cross in Lansing, Michigan.
