GREEN BAY, Wis. (WTAQ) - Al-Qaeda is claiming responsibility for the botched Christmas attack on an American passenger plane. A statement on the terrorist group's website says the failed attack was in response to a U.S. missile attack on its Yemen wing. The group said it provided the Nigerian suspect with a "technically advanced device." However, it failed to detonate because of a technical glitch. There was no immediate reaction from the White House. President Obama is expected to speak Monday about the failed bombing of Northwest Flight 253 from Amsterdam to Detroit. He'll make the statement from Hawaii, where he's spending his Christmas vacation with his family.
