TERRE HAUTE (WIBQ) - Mother Nature is not giving the thermometers a break this week. The National Weather Service in Indinapolis has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for Tuesday, and have already issued an Excessive Heat Watch for Wednesday. Heat indicies bothe days could hit between 105-110 degrees, with air temperatures in the upper 90's.
With this dangerous heat, you are advised to drink plenty of fluids, take frequent breaks, wear light colored clothing, and try to do any outdoor activities early or very late in the day. Also, be sure to check on elderly family members or neighbors, and remember to bring in pets that are usually left outside. Prolonged exposure to this weather can leave you with heat related illness. Stay in an air conditioned room if at all possible.
