WASHINGTON D.C. -- The U.S. House is being called back to Washington for a quick emergency session to vote on a spending bill. Speaker Nancy Pelosi says it contains funding that could save 147-thousand teachers jobs nationwide, and the bill needs to be passed well before school begins next month. The measure passed the Senate last week. It would provide $10-billion for teachers and $16-billion for Medicaid. Republicans say it will just expand the deficit.
