LIVONIA -- The ACLU is filing a lawsuit against three Michigan Communities that have banned the state approved distribution and use of Medical Marijuana. They claim the cities are violating state law, by not allowing a practice that was approved by an overwhelming majority of the state’s residents. They are suing Livonia, Birmingham, and Bloomfield Hills, but they could have just as easily included others that have taken similar positions.
The cities claim the state law is too vague and could lead to abuses. The ACLU says that cities can’t pick and choose which laws they will abide by, and reject others. The ruling will help clarify the law, which many agree is confusing and needs focusing.
