EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WSAU) – A live-in boyfriend has been charged with the murder of an Altoona woman.

Forty-four-year-old Gregory Gubernot was arrested today in Forest County, after a warrant was issued. He’s charged with first-degree intentional homicide in the killing of 43-year-old Theresa Still.

Authorities said she was beaten-and-strangled, and her body was found nine days ago in a remote part of Adams County.

She disappeared from a tavern in Altoona December 27th after an argument with Gubernot.

Prosecutors said Still wanted Gubernot to move out of their house, but he said no.

She apparently told a co-worker that Gubernot had gotten quote, “more and more violent and belligerent” with her.
