COLDWATER (WTVB) - A proposed technology park on Coldwater’s East side may be a key component of Branch County’s economic development strategy. The Park was mentioned this week when a County Commission committee heard from the Branch County Economic Growth Alliance.

The Alliance was looking for and received the committee’s endorsement, which goes to the full Board, for the E-G-A’s strategy document. It’s part of the red tape required for the alliance to receive federal monies from the Economic Development Corporation. The City of Coldwater has purchased land for the technology park on north Willowbrook Road.

The development paper also mentions other projects that have been identified for the E-D-C in Bronson, Quincy, and else in Coldwater. The development opportunities have been pinpointed with the help of a group of people representing local governments, private industry and all faces of the community that has gathered monthly this year with consultants for the Growth Alliance
