UNDATED -- With just a few weeks to go before the August 3rd Primary a poll conducted for The Detroit News, WDIV and WZZM by The Glengariff Group shows the GOP race is down to three front runners.

Mike Cox has 26.4%, Pete Hoekstra has 25.6% and Rick Snyder is in striking distance at 20.2%. Hoekstra leads in the west and Cox in the east, but Cox has to contend with Mike Bouchard and Rick Snyder, who are also stronger in Eastern Michigan.

Cox’s TV campaign has consisted mostly of criticizing Hoekstra, and we could see that turned up a few notches in the final weeks. With nearly one in seven Republicans saying they are still undecided, swaying them may be the key, then getting them motivated enough to actually vote. .
