(Detroit, MI)  --  A deal has been approved by the Detroit City Council to purchase the old MGM Grand casino near downtown for a new combined police and fire headquarters.  The city will spend six-point-three-million to purchase the old casino, and the council approved selling 100-million-dollars in bonds to pay to renovate the facility.  Michigan State Police are also expected to have a state crime lab in the building.
