GRAND RAPIDS (WKZO) -- Federal Prosecutors now say that a former boy scout leader from Twin Lakes did a lot more than just swap pictures of little boys having sex. Scott Herrick had been arrested for distributing kiddie porn on the internet, but when the former Boy Scout Camp Director was named in a federal indictment yesterday, new allegations surfaced.
Prosecutors say he secretly recorded young boys undressing with a cell phone at his other job, supervising third graders in a swim class at the Muskegon YMCA. Herrick had been the director at the Gerber Boy Scout Camp when his internet activity caught the attention of on-line investigators. He is now charged with possession, distribution and attempt to manufacture and could get 15 to 30 years maximum if convicted.
