COLDWATER (WTVB) - Township and County officials and the general public who attended yesterday’s meeting in Coldwater with a DNRE water and land management analyst didn’t get a lot of their questions on lake levels and no wake zones answered, but were told the issues they raised will be researched and they can expect to hear back from Lansing.

Analyst Katie Fairchild made her presentation to a standing room only audience at the Branch County Courthouse Annex. She said she wasn’t sure if her agency had the necessary authority on no wake zones or it actually lies with the sheriff or drain commissioner. Fairchild said she understands it makes sense for safety and property protection with bigger and faster boats a cause for real concern.
