KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- President Obama is making one last push to get his healthcare reform plan through Congress, saying that the republican alternative to push it through piece by piece will mean true reform will never happen.
After nearly a year of delay, and decades of debating the issue, West Michigan Congressman Pete Hoekstra says majority Democrats are in too big in a hurry to get this through Congress and onto the President’s desk.
A new report issued by Families USA shows every day of delay is costing people their lives. They say it could lead to approximately 76-hundred premature deaths in Michigan over the next ten years. The group's Executive Director Ron Pollack says nationally 68 people are losing their lives daily because of lack of coverage.
The Democratic Leadership had wanted some republican buy-in, but now say they plan to push it through whether they get any GOP support or not.
