Undocumented Workers At Oil Spill Arrested In Texas

WINNIE, TEXAS (WKZO) – Forty-two undocumented aliens, who had been working the oil spill clean up in Michigan, have been arrested after they were found inside a couple of buses parked behind a bank in Winnie Texas.

The Buses had been chartered by Phillip Hallmark, the owner of Hallmark Industrial. About 40 others ran off and were not captured. Immigration agents took the 42 to holding cells for eventual deportation.

During a press conference yesterday, Enbridge CEO Pat Daniels denied any knowledge of what Hallmark was doing or why they were fired. He says it was all handled by a sub-contractor of a subcontractor.

Congressman Mark Schauer is calling the decision to bring in the workers from Texas, when so many in Michigan are unemployed appalling. Daniels says more and more of the workers are from Michigan, over 500 already. EPA officials say their response was immediate when reports surfaced of undocumented workers engaged in unsafe practices in the red zone. Mark Durno says Enbridge also responded immediately by beefing up safety protocols and briefings.

Enbridge CEO Pat Daniels says their pressure tests on Monday went well, the pipe holding beyond expected typical pressures.
