Another meth lab bust, this time in neighboring St Joseph County. It happened Thursday afternoon in the 50000 block of North Burr Oak Road in Colon Township. St Joseph County Area Narcotics Unit investigators executed a search warrant on the property and discovered 6 cooked labs and a portable meth lab. A Drug Lab Disposal Service had to be brought in to deal with the potential hazardous waste generated by the manufacture of methamphetamine.
Deputies say a 40-year-old man fled the property when they arrived. They found him a short time later in a wooded area and he is being held on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine, maintaining a drug house, and possessing firearms in the commission of a felony.
