A stand-off for police in Quincy Sunday evening. Branch County Sheriff’s deputies and the Michigan State Police responded to a domestic assault call at 35 Cole Street in Quincy around 8:30 pm. When police arrived, 35-year-old suspect Kolby Kimble fled on foot. The K-9 unit was called to search for Kimble, but police say he returned to the scene and got back into the house through an open window. When they tried to talk with him, Kimble reportedly picked up a fire axe and threatened deputies.
For the next three hours deputies and troopers set up a perimeter around the house and continued to make contact with Kimble. Just before midnight Kimble came out of the house to taunt deputies and they rushed him, making the arrest. Kimble is lodged in the Branch County Jail for domestic violence and probation violence. The initial assault was on Kimble’s sister at the home.
