COLDWATER (WTVB) - In high school sports yesterday, in boy’s soccer, Coldwater was a 4-to-3 winner at home over Battle Creek Central. Scoring two goals apiece for the Cardinals were Kaliel Alisaid and Nick DiCicco. Adding assists for Coldwater were Alisaid and Aldair Gutierrez. The Cardinals outshot the Bearcats 18-to-9. Patrick Christopher made six saves in goal for Coldwater. The Cardinals, who improved their record to 4-and-1, return to action tomorrow night at Battle Creek Lakeview.
There was no JV match last night for Coldwater with just a scrimmage as Battle Creek Central didn’t have enough players to field a team.
The only other event on the high school schedule Tuesday for Branch County teams was a boy’s tennis match for Bronson and the Vikings lost 6-to-1 at home to Pennfield. Scoring the point for Bronson was the first doubles team of Casey Starks and Brian Yore.
On today’s high school schedule, in volleyball, it’s Coldwater at Battle Creek Central and Bronson at White Pigeon. In boy’s tennis, Coldwater hosts Marshall.
In cross country, Coldwater and Quincy are at the Springport Invitational. And in girl’s golf, Coldwater plays in a SMAC East jamboree at Cedar Creek hosted by Battle Creek Lakeview.
