It looks like Kirk Maltby could be back for another season with the Red Wings. Detroit general manager Ken Holland said Tuesday he expects the 38-year old forward to sign a one year contract this week.
Maltby, who’s coming off shoulder surgery, has won 4 Stanley Cups with the Red Wings. If he signs, he’s expected to begin the season with the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League. Detroit opens training camp September 17th in Traverse City.
