Michigan’s already thin and young secondary has taken another hit heading into Saturday’s game at Notre Dame. Coach Rich Rodriguez confirmed yesterday that sophomore Vladimir Emilien, who played in the Wolverine’s season-opening win over Connecticut, has left the team with plans to transfer to another school.
A freshman safety, Ray Vinopal, is expected to move into the lineup to replace Emilien, who is the third player to exit Michigan since August. Defensive back Justin Turner transferred to West Virginia while running back Austin White checked out during training camp.
Tonight’s college football schedule includes Central Michigan with its Mid-American Conference opener at Temple.
