Rumeal Robinson, who hit the winning free throws for Michigan in the Wolverine’s 1989 NCAA championship game victory, was convicted in federal court yesterday for borrowing 700-thousand dollars in a scam loan deal and using the money to buy a condo, cars, and expensive furniture.
Robinson, who also later played in the NBA, was found guilty on 11 counts and faces up to a million dollar fine on each count as well as a possible 30-years in prison. No sentencing date has been set.
