Kirk Maltby has signed a one year contract with the Red Wings. The two way deal will allow the 37-year-old forward to remain with the organization. If Maltby fails to make the Wings roster following training camp, he will start the year with the team's A-H-L affiliate, the Grand Rapids Griffins.
In 13 seasons with Detroit, Maltby has skated in over 900 games and won four Stanley Cup championships. He appeared in 52 games last year before having season ending surgery on his shoulder.
