(Farmington Hills, MI) -- Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick has filed an appeal of his sentence for a probation violation. Kilpatrick's attorney, Arnold Reed, said that the appeal was filed late Wednesday with the Court of Appeals. The former mayor is serving a sentence of 18-months to five years in prison for violating his probation stemming from obstruction of justice charges in the 2008 text-message scandal.
