KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Reaction to the appointment of a so-called Asian Carp Czar to oversee the struggle to keep the invasive species out of the Great Lakes has gotten mostly positive reaction from state officials.
Governor Granholm says John Goss, an environmentalist and the former director of the Indiana DNR “shares our passion for protecting the lakes”. Senator Debbie Stabenow, in Kalamazoo yesterday, says she is for the idea if it gets things moving. She says someone to bridge the states and agencies and get them going in the same direction can only help.
Rep. Candace Miller says she would have like to see someone from Michigan get the job, someone who is on record supporting the separation of the two waterways.
