BURLINTON (WKZO) A 58-year old man from Burlington working on a sewer line project on property in Oshtemo Township has died. It happened when a trench collapsed and he became trapped. The victim has been identified by authorities as Stanley Wilson. The accident occurred around 4:15 Wednesday afternoon in the 32-hundred block of Old Savannah Road.
Wilson worked for a Mattawan company, C Johnson and Son Excavating. Attempts by co-workers to save Wilson were unsuccessful and rescue crews weren’t able to help the situation when they reached the scene.
The incident will be investigated by the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
