COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - In Branch County high school sports, the fall season schedule starts on a limited basis next week with openers in girl’s golf, boy’s tennis, and volleyball, but there are a couple of pre-season tune ups this weekend.

Tomorrow night at seven o’clock at Cardinal Field in Coldwater, it’s the annual Red and White football scrimmage. Next week, the Cardinals travel to Three Rivers for a scrimmage on Thursday and then the Coldwater season opener is two weeks from tonight at Mattawan. We’ll have that game on the radio to kick off another season of live high school coverage on AM-1590 and streaming on-line at wtvbam.com.

And tomorrow in volleyball, Coldwater has an intra-squad scrimmage at the high school from 10 a.m. until Noon and parents are asked to attend. Also in volleyball tomorrow, it’s a scrimmage for the Bronson Lady Vikings at Battle Creek Lakeview. Bronson opens its season a week from tomorrow with the Bronson Invitational. The rest of the schools in county begin play, also a week from tomorrow, at Battle Creek St. Philip in the Carrie Adams Invitational.
