Kurt Busch and Penske racing ended their six-year relationship on Monday. The move came one week after the Sprint Cup series driver was fined $50-thousand by NASCAR for making an inappropriate hand gesture and using foul language while waiting for a televised interview during the season-ending race at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
The 33-year-old Busch won a pair of races this year and finished 11th in the point standings. During the spring race at Richmond, Busch had a tirade over his team radio, complaining to crew chief Steve Addington about the poor performance of his car. He also had run-ins with Jimmie Johnson, which led to heated arguments between the two after a pair of races. Busch won 10 races during his tenure with Penske.
