(Lansing, MI) -- Budget cuts are coming for the state. That is the message from state House Speaker Jase Bolger of Marshall, who said yesterday the cuts could be painful. Lawmakers have a 1.8 billion-dollar deficit they are working to erase, and Governor Snyder has also asked them to pass a two-year budget instead of a single-year spending plan. Bolger said one of the first things he plans to do is wipe out the 22 percent surcharge in the Michigan Business Tax. Representative Chuck Moss of Birmingham said cuts will also be made to education, saying the current government is not sustainable.
