KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- They held a small protest on the west side of the WMU Campus in painfully cold conditions last evening, to mark the 6th month anniversary of the Enbridge Oil Spill and to remind Congressman Fred Upton of its devastating effect on Talmadge Creek and the Kalamazoo River.

The Group’s John Curran says they want Upton to pursue an energy policy that focuses on cleaner renewable forms of energy, and steers the country away from its reliance on fossil fuels and the refineries and pipelines that go along with it.

Upton has always pitched an “all of the above” energy policy, saying it’s the only way we can maintain our quality of life, meet growing energy needs and make the transition to greener fuels. And no, .he hasn’t forgotten about the Enbridge spill.

In the past few months he has been called everything from a socialist by Glenn Beck, to a turncoat by Michigan environmentalists.
