The NBA joined the NFL and entered a lockout just after midnight this morning after another round of meetings with players failed to produce an agreement on a new collective bargaining agreement.
Talks between the league and players broke up in New York on Thursday afternoon. The work stoppage is the NBA's first lockout since the 1998-99 season was shortened to 50 games because of labor strife.
Among the issues the league and its players are having are disagreements over the salary cap, revenue sharing and guaranteed contracts. Some say the gap between the two sides is so wide that the entire upcoming season could be wiped out.
