COLDWATER (WTVB) - Today’s high school sports schedule promises to be one of the busiest days of the year, with baseball and softball districts, a boys golf district, and the state track finals on the docket.
In baseball, Coldwater is hosting a Division 2 District at Lowe Field, and the Cardinals will take on SMAC East champion Sturgis this afternoon, with the winner taking on either Edwardsburg or Three Rivers in the championship game. Union City is hosting a Division 3 district, although the Chargers were eliminated Tuesday by Constantine. The Falcons will play Bronson, while Centreville takes on Quincy, with the winners squaring off this afternoon.
Coldwater is also hosting a Division 2 Softball District at the Rotary Softball Complex. The Cardinals open up against Sturgis, with the winner playing either Vicksburg or Three Rivers this afternoon in the championship game. Over in Division 3 at Union City, the Chargers take on Bronson, while Quincy plays against Centreville, with the winners playing against each other this afternoon.
In boys golf, Coldwater is competing in a Division 2 District hosted by Pennfield at the Marywood Golf Course.
Finally, the MHSAA Lower Peninsula Track Finals will take place in the greater Grand Rapids area. Coldwater’s regional qualifiers will compete in the Division 2 Finals at Houseman Field, while representatives from Bronson, Quincy, and Union City will be at the Division 3 Finals at Comstock Park High School.
