Former General Motors vice president Roy Roberts has been named the new emergency financial manager of the Detroit Public Schools. In making the announcement yesterday, Governor Rick Snyder said Roberts' management and leadership skills will be a benefit to the district, which is dealing with a 327-million-dollar deficit. Roberts will take over as emergency financial manager when Robert Bobb's appointment ends in June.
