LANSING, Mich (WLMI) Governor Snyder and leaders in the state legislature have reached a deal on a budget plan that restores some funding to K-12 schools. State House Speaker Jase Bolger of Marshall says lawmakers were able to use an unexpected surplus to prevent deeper cuts to education. The proposal would also reduce state employee concessions, add 255-million-dollars to Michigan's rainy day fund and provide 25-million-dollars to the state's film industry. Snyder is asking the full legislature to finalize the budget by the end of May.
