LANSING, Mich (WLMI) The state budget is headed to the desk of Governor Rick Snyder---earlier than at any point in the last 30 years. State Representative Joe Haveman of Holland says that will allow lawmakers to get a lot of other work done. The legislation establishing the budget passed along party-line votes, however a few Republicans did vote against them. Education is taking a hit--with universities facing a 15-percent cut in aid and public schools losing 300-dollars per student.
