Michigan State’s first win at Iowa since 1989 on Saturday helped keep the Spartans in control of the Big Ten’s Legends Division and moved them up from 13th to 12th in this week’s A-P and Coach’s polls.
MSU plays its final home game this week against Indiana. Michigan is ranked 20th this week, up two places from last week with the Wolverines playing their last two games at home, with Nebraska visiting Ann Arbor on Saturday and then the finale against Ohio State.
LSU and Oklahoma State are still No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, in the most recent BCS standings released Sunday, less than 24 hours after two of the remaining five undefeated teams fell by the wayside. Alabama stayed in the No. 3 spot for the second straight week, holding off fourth ranked Oregon following the Ducks' 53-30 drubbing of previously unbeaten Stanford.
The loss dropped the Cardinal from No. 4 in the BCS standings to ninth, while Boise State plummeted from the No. 5 spot to 10th. The Broncos also lost their chance at a perfect season by falling to TCU on Saturday.
